Biography

Dr. Prashant N. Mane is an Associate Professor in Agricultural Entomology at the Oilseeds Research Unit, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth (Dr. PDKV), Akola. With over 25 years of dedicated research and teaching experience, he has made significant contributions to integrated pest management, biopesticides, and sustainable agriculture in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.

His research spans the ecology and management of insect pests affecting major oilseed crops including soybean, sunflower, groundnut, and sesame. He has pioneered work in chitinase-based biopesticides and explored nanotechnology-enabled formulations for more effective and environmentally responsible pest control solutions tailored to the semi-arid agro-climatic conditions of central India.

Dr. Mane has authored numerous research publications in reputed national and international journals, contributed chapters to edited volumes, and presented at several national conferences. He actively guides postgraduate students and participates in extension activities aimed at translating research outcomes into practical solutions for farming communities in the region.
